Birchall Equestrian & Company would like to congratulate Cassidy Gallman and her horse Woden for their excellent performance at the North American Junior Young Rider Championships in Lexington Kentucky this July!  Cassidy along with her Region 7 teammates Theresa Adams, Ariel Thomas, and Michaela Nelson earned the team Silver Medal competing against 33 horse and rider combinations representing the United States, Canada, Quatemala, and Mexico.  In addition, Region 7’s Young Rider team also earned the Silver Medal making it a very successful team competition day for our California based riders.  Following the team test, Cassidy competed in the Individual test and placed 15th over-all which allowed her to compete in the Musical Freestyle the next day.  Only the top 15 combinations can compete in the Freestyle round, so we were thrilled that Cassidy had the opportunity to ride her “August Rush” freestyle that we had worked so hard on all season.  Woden was such a champ considering all the camera’s and the electric atmosphere inside the Rolex Stadium.  They put on a great show and placed 10th with a 66.675%!

The opportunity to go and coach at the 2012 NAJYRC this summer was an incredible experience!  I was inspired by all the quality horses and excited to see such talented young riders moving up in the sport of dressage.  The NAJYRC is not your “normal” competition, but an occasion for young riders to work together and compete as a team.  In a sport that is mostly just “you and your horse”, it was nice to see these young riders cheering on their teammates and working together!

A special THANKS goes to Randy and Tracy Gallman.  Without them none of this would have been possible!  They were there every step of the way and were a huge help to me as well as all of Region 7.  Also would like to thank Kathy Priest for letting Woden stay at her beautiful Woodspring Farm and Tex Sutton for flying Woden safe and sound.
